Miss Minter's third grade class!

My name is Amanda Minter. I am originally from Janesville, Wisconsin. I graduated from the University of Wisconsin, Whitewater. I have a degree in Elementary Education grades 1-8  and a minor in Special Education.  I taught third grade last year during an internship in Beloit. While attending Whitewater University, I studied abroad in Jyväskylä, Finland. I learned a lot throughout my studies abroad that I plan to use in my classroom. I am excited to share my new ideas.

Teaching third grade has been my dream since I was a third grader myself. I had a wonderful teacher by the name of Mrs. Littlejohn who inspired me to become a lifelong learner and to help children discover their gifts and talents. My father is also a teacher and has taught me the importance of working in a career that you love.  I am very close to my family and spend time with them whenever I can. I love to go fishing, camping, bike riding, and relaxing at home with my cat.

Teaching is my passion, and I am always trying to find new ways to improve my methods. I will do everything in my power to help my students reach their fullest potential. Please let me know if you ever have any questions or ideas you would like to share with me. Teaching is a team effort, and I feel it is essential to have communication with families. I look forward to a wonderful year, and I am excited to be a part of the Lakeview family.
