Laura Grochowski

Teaching in the Whitewater Unified School District has truly allowed me to develop and grow as a teacher. The staff that I am blessed to work with day to day is so supportive and student oriented that we are all able to learn and grow from each other. This is a close community that cares about each other and I am blessed to be a part of it.

A Little About Me
I have been teaching at Lakeview since 1998. I was born and raised in Kalamazoo, Michigan and earned a degree in Music Therapy from Michigan State University. Go Spartans! I came to the Milwaukee area to complete an internship and never left. After working for 7 years as a music therapist, the idea of teaching special education appealed to me and I returned to school. I received my teaching certification from University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee in the summer of 1998 and started teaching here that fall. My husband and I have a son in 10th grade, an 8 year old daughter and a pet ferret. We live in Mukwonago. My children and I have recently become really involved with the hobby of letterboxing and enjoy spending time outdoors. Whenever I get a chance I love to garden and raise monarch butterflies in the summer. Please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions about my program and role at Lakeview.
